Liar, liar

So here's a good plan for a blog post. Wait until the 48 hours when your traffic is at its lowest for the week, and THEN post a crowd participation sort of game. Great idea, Stef! Yeah, I thought so.

Anyway...

This "Two truths and a lie" game has been making the rounds lately. And if you know me at all by now, you know that any meme I can turn into a five-point list is bound to become a Friday Five, so I'm going to double the truths and do exactly that.

The other fun thing about this game is that almost everyone has decided that prizes should be involved, and since I hate to be the one girl who says, "You get NOTHING, sucka," let's call this my very first blog contest (blontest?) as well. I'll draw a name from all those with a correct guess, and if that name is yours (and you're willing to send me your address), a prize yet to be determined will be on its way. Are you excited?? WOULD IT HELP IF I USED ALL CAPS?? Good. Then we're ready. Let's go.

Four truths and a lie. Can you tell which is which?

  1. I have both milked a cow and worked in a cheese factory.
  2. I have changed the oil on my own car.
  3. I have eaten haggis... more than once.
  4. I have never had a cavity.
  5. I have incurred a balloon-related injury that required a cast on my foot and lower leg.

All right. Since it's Friday, and many of you have better things to do on weekends than see what I'm rambling about over here, I'll give this until Monday night before gathering right answers and declaring a winner. Have at it!

Hmmmm......... I am going to say number 4. the cavity. And that is my final answer.

I do hope when you reveal the answers we get the back stories!

I'm going to say number 1 is the lie. I think you've done one or the other, but not both.

Frick. Am torn between numbers 1 and 4.

1.

And haggis? *shudder*

I just made Poppy Cede's super-easy veggie chili recipe. Haven't tried it yet, though it smells fab. However, if you have yet to make it, I warn you: it makes a TON. Like a huge stockpot full, and I mean full. You might halve it, and if it speaks to you, make the full recipe next time and freeze half or two-thirds of it. :)

4 is the lie.

I think 2 is the lie. Your list is really good and tricky! I really have no clue what the right answer is.

I'm going to go with four. Dear God, please tell me you haven't eaten haggis, though. Blargh.

Wow, this one is tough! Granted, I suck at these. So...

I'm going to go with number 1. Though, if you've worked at a cheese factory, that's awesome! Can I hire you?

Me thinks number 2. I have no idea why. :)

Am I cool or what? 9 PM on Saturday night and I'm reading blogs.

Yay for nerds!

(leave me alone - I have a baby)

My word verification is vjajh. Somehow that makes me feel dirty.

Dang. I left a comment yesterday and it seems to be missing. So I'm guessing 3; there's no way you'd eat that nasty food product more than once.

Right?

RIGHT?!

I think two is a lie. Assuming that I am correct, and you DID work in a cheese factory, I think that's awesome. I toured a cheese factory once, and it was very cool. That is how much I love cheese.

I'm going with #2, 'cause why would you DO that? That's why God created Jiffy Lube. ;)

And I very much want the cheese factory, haggis and balloon injury (again, something that would totally happen to me) items to be true. Hee.

Number 1 is clearly true, because you are a Sconnie and I support state-based stereotypes!

I'm going to say that the haggis is a lie (#3), because, for your sake, I hope it is.

I'm going with #2. Maybe you changed the oil on someone else's car ...

I have to go with #2, too, although I wouldn't put it past you to change your own motor oil... And I'm wondering if you've milked a cow or not; maybe you're trying to be tricky with #1? I'm torn! OK, it's always best to go with your first instinct, right? So #2 it is. NO WHAMMIES. NO WHAMMIES. (Can the prize please be some home-made brownies?)

I'm torn between 2 and 4.....so I'll go with #4.

drum roll please.........

I am going to go with #4, because it would be true for me, and usually when I tell people that I've never had a cavity (which isn't frequently; I'm not some kind of dental-braggart) they think that is very weird.

Hi Stefanie,
I'm the crazy girl who emailed you a few days ago. I thought I'd comment for the first time since you made it so easy!

My guess is #3 just because I hope that is the answer. Yuck!
