You know I love a list, but is posting a list of lists going just a bit too far?

If you're just tuning in, I should explain that I'm running reruns this week, for no better reason than that I haven't felt particularly inspired to write anything new lately and that I had this possibly egomaniacal idea that perhaps there was some good stuff in the archives that no one had yet stumbled across. I promise I will get back to my irregularly scheduled ramblings about more current things soon, but meanwhile, I thought I'd use this week's Friday Five to highlight five of my favorite lists-of-five thus far. I am fully aware, by the way, that my blog is suddenly starting to feel like a clip show, and I've never even particularly liked clip shows. Let's just go with it for one more day, though, OK?

Five Friday Fives that you may or may not have already read:

  1. Five things I have learned from TV (Television isn't just for entertainment, after all... it's also "teacher, mother, secret lover"*)

  2. Five food-related things you will never hear me say (Also on the list? "No olives for me, thanks.")

  3. Five crappy little non-posts does not a proper post make (I really don't think I was drunk when I wrote this one, though in retrospect I'm not so sure.)

  4. Five ways to make me quickly dismiss your online profile (Just in case I haven't complained about the men on meMarmony quite enough lately...)

  5. Five things I do not understand (This could also be "Five things that annoy me no end," but I already have at least three lists centered on annoyance.)

* I am hoping Metalia and Darren got that reference, though I don't know how many of the rest of you did.

The time zone thing - I lived in Indianapolis for less than a year. They did not recognize daylight savings time there. I lived there for a while when I was at the same time on the clock as my dad (East coast), and I lived there for a while when it was an hour earlier. When I moved here (EST all the time) it was about 5 years before he stopped asking me "What time is it there?" on the phone and realized that it was ALWAYS the same time as it is for him.

I LOVED KIDD VIDEO! From my video... to my radio!

I don't know what it was about Kidd... he was such a scrawny little bugger, but we all loved him. I think it was the fact that he sang, wrote some of the songs on the show, and looked totally bitchin' in his 80s bright colored jackets with the collars up. Oh, yeah.

Plus, Cousin Oliver was on that show. Does it get any better?

I remember feeling way too old to be watching a Sat. morning cartoon, but sitting through the whole thing just to get to the videos at the end.

I decided today was the day that I would get caught up on all the blog reading I didn't do over the past week, only to find that in the past week you have linked to no fewer than 14 of your previous posts. Devil woman.

What's wrong with using the word "sex" more than three times in your profile??? :) My "About Me" pages says that my blog is about:

" [...] sex, sex and more sex! And, when I can't get enough of talking about sex, I run out and HAVE SEX!!!!"

Of course, I'm kidding. But, you already know that. (I hope.)

Of COURSE I got the reference. :)

I specifically remember seeing that episode of The Cosby Show you discussed in your old post, and being wholly skeptical as to how the blender worked without the top being securely fastened. Yes, these were the things I thought about at the tender age of 8.

3Cs--True, Indiana does make the time zone thing a little more confusing. But unfortunately Indiana is not the issue for most of these people.

DCCM--That was Cousin Oliver?? How did I miss that?!? You are correct, though. Wow.

Notorious T.O.G.--Heh. Sorry. ;-)

Funky B--Your blog profile, OK. But a meMarmony profile? No. Then again, I did score only a $185 and some change on that quiz you posted. Apparently I'm sheltered and chaste.

Metalia--Yay; I figured you would. :-)

You and I totally have the same approach to rejecting online profiles. We are NOT too picky--we are discriminating. There's a difference.
