Goodbye, Med

I don't generally document any one specific meMarmony match to this degree, but since so many of you were so invested in this one, I thought I should tell you that I clicked the infamous "Close" button on the man we call "Med" this morning.

Bu-Bye, Med. I hardly knew ye. Best of luck and all that.

Bye-bye, Med

Note #1: Before anyone gets all excited by the "Reason for closing" box I checked, no I do not have a new boyfriend I've not told you about. I am pursuing another relationship; I just don't know yet with whom it will be!

Note #2: Friday Five will be coming later today. Likely much later. I should get some work done first, unfortunately.

Med, Med...You blew it, guy.

Have you considered listing in your profile that guys who wait 10 days to call are a pet peeve? ;)

Oh, man. I was all excited there for a minute by the pursuing another relationship thing!

I think Med definitely deserved the close match move after failing to call you in a reasonable amount of time AGAIN.

PS Doing actual work is overrated.

You made the right choice, my friend! Nicely done. I hope Med learns a lesson.

At least Med entertained us all. Poor Med. What a doof. I'm glad you are "pursing another relationship". I'm sure he'll ask you about it when you run into him at Target...

Ah, Med. Maybe someone should clue him in that some women ARE KAYAKS, and have better things to do than sit around waiting for him to call. His loss.

3Cs--No, but that's an idea, I suppose. You'd think it could go without saying, though!

R--It is overrated, isn't it? If only my boss felt that way.

Nabb--Sadly, I doubt it. I'm guessing he didn't care much more than I did, so he'll likely think very little of it.

Paisley--Gah! I didn't think of that! Oh, man. You are right. I will probably see him there tomorrow even.

Liz--Somehow I think that if I told him I'm a kayak, he would think I am a lunatic and figure he dodged a bullet by not going out with me again. Heh.

C-Ya, Med! The Internet is against you!

Also, Stefanie, nice work with the photoshop skillz.

I'd leave the 10 day call peeve out of your profile. It provides a handy way to weed out the tools.

Steve, I figured the people who KNOW they wait that long to call just wouldn't bother because they'd figure she's too much trouble. Either that, or it would teach a whole ignorant group of people that it's not cool to wait that long to call...

Stefanie, don't forget to wash your hair before you go to Target tomorrow! ;)

I don't know why, but I'm glad you did. Somehow to me, it means you stood up for what you believe and would like to be treated like.

Goodbye Med, we hardly knew ya!

They should put "He did all the wrong things" on the "reasons" list.

I'm just saying.

Oh my God. The very next entry in my Google Reader was from Peter (I love this guy) who wrote this:

Hilar.

Woohoo! Very glad you made the right decision. :D

Yay, here's to guys who are worth it! Med, ya messed up and missed out. Yeah, I'm with all the ones who say get all dressed up and spiffied when next you make a Target run (although, I don't know anyone who runs at Target... myself, I do more of a Target crawl...)

L Sass--Thanks! :-) (I actually used Paint Shop Pro, but whatever.) I kept looking over and over to make sure I had gotten rid of all identifying details. Thought for sure I would forget something.

Steve--Oh, if only there were a real and reliable way to weed out the tools...

3Cs--Ugh. I hate that I'm now actually concerned what I look like when I run errands! No fair.

LC--This is just one of many, many men I have clicked that button on, but it's nice to know so many people agree with me on closing this one.

JN--That is awesome. I can think of lots of other things that should be in that list, too, actually. The choices are not nearly adequate. Also, that post you linked to was hilarious. I can totally relate to it, of course. The lying-about-height thing in particular I've seen several times. I think "Med" might have actually lied about his age, too. He looked way more than four years older than me.

Poppy--Thanks. :-)

Anniina--Yes, I'm a Target crawler much of the time, too. I'm a little worried that if a past date does see me when I don't see him, it'll be when I'm carefully considering all the different Method products or trying to decide which cute new socks to buy. I get entirely immersed in those decisions far more than is probably reasonable. ;-)

I withdraw my "eh, why not" piece of advice after seeing how far unbuttoned his shirt is. Hi, Med. Not OK. Bye, Med.

Stefanie said...

Malia--Ha. I love it when you guys are even more judgmental than I am. Thanks for that. :-)

Also, FYI... He CALLED again! About an hour after I closed him (again, in the middle of the day, when he knew I'd be at work). Presumably he had not logged in to see the "Closed" message yet. I will not be calling him back. The "Bu-bye" stands.
